Mat 24:6 And ye shall hear of wars and rumors of wars: see that ye be not troubled: for all these things must come to pass, but the end is not yet.
Mat 24:7 For nation shall rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom: and there shall be famines, and pestilences, and earthquakes, in divers places.
Mat 24:8 All these are the beginning of sorrows.
At the risk of looking relevant, I cannot ignore the most glaring prophetic fulfillment of our time. Israel is under attack. The nations are shifting their focus toward the center of the world, which is Jerusalem, and we must not dismiss this prophetic moment.
The legend is told that during the Great Fire of Rome in 64 AD, Nero was standing on his balcony playing his fiddle. Thus the saying, “he was fiddling as Rome burned.” It simply meant that as disaster unfolded, apathy set in. It is astounding to me that Christians would ignore such obvious end time events. Jesus forewarned us through the parable of the ten virgins; half of them were lost. We must not “fiddle” while the final day approaches.
Apathy is an affliction all its own. It sinks deep into the marrow of a man. It makes him indifferent to passion and fervency. He usually sits to watch. Apathy is not a demonic spirit, but a choice made by the carnal nature. It is a mire that will keep a once-upon-a-time believer bound by inactivity. The apathetic man bemoans sacrifice and commitment. While he sees scriptural revelations unfold, there is no urgency for him to seek God with his whole heart. Though he is a “Christian” in title, there is no evidence of his conversion. Chances are he will never read this writing.
But for those who have ears to hear…
Think! Matthew 24. Pestilences are viruses. They are by definition plagues, contagions, or epidemics. It is Covid-19! Famines are afflicting the world in diverse places like never before. Nations are at war. We may very well have entered a new type of world war. Jesus said, “in diverse places.” Ukraine and the Middle East are diverse places. The world economy is on the verge of unifying into a one world initiative and some still fiddle. All prophecy, or enough prophecy, has come to pass for Jesus to return. We are in the final countdown of the last trumpet of God and we must not miss the rapture! Not for apathy or complacency, not for worldliness or carnal ambition. Nothing should get in our way. Above all else, we must be saved.
